| ASA Central Virginia Men's E Championship Tournament |
| The ASA Central Virginia Men's E Championship Tournament is fast approaching; taking place on July 31st and August 1st at the Glen Allen Softball Complex in Glen Allen, VA. This tournament qualifies teams for the E National which takes place on Labor Day Weekend in Salem, Virginia. To qualify to go to the E National, your team must play in 3 ASA events, PLUS the Men's E Championship taking place in Glen Allen, Virginia or the E State Tournament taking place in Charlottesville, Virginia. If you are interested in playing in this tournament (Central Virginia Men's E Championship), please log onto www.centralvaasa.com, enter your team, fill out the entry form and mail it to: Scott Southworth 600 Dauphin Drive Richmond, VA 23236 The entry form can be found on the tournament page of the Central Virginia ASA web site. You must include the entry fee of $225; make the check payable to Scott Southworth. Deadline is July 28th, 2010. This tournament will have 2 umpires per game. | Play to begin Saturday evening between 5:00 and 9:00pm. Games should be over between 9:00 and 10:00am on Sunday morning. 4 Game Round Robin Top Teams advance to the playoffs undefeated 2nd and 3rd place teams advance to the playoffs with one loss Hooter's Girls to make an appearance at both complexes. | Hello softball fans! It's time for the 3rd leg of the Miken Series. Get your team in now! Go to the tournament page and sign up. Make sure you've put your team's profile on line. Call me if you have any questions (804-241-8204) or email me at collinsrwc@aol.com. Hope to see all of you at the ball park this weekend! The top six teams from the series will qualify for the WSL National Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio; Houston, Texas; Panama City, Florida or Henderson, Nevada. This year the series will run on a point system and the winner of the series in each division will win some great prizes! The point system is as follows: 2 points for entering the tournament 2 points for each game won during the tournament 6 points for winning the tournament 4 points for being the runner-up 2 points for 3rd place To find out more information, please check out the flyer posted on each tournament page. The final dates for the tournaments are: July 10th and 11th, 2010 |
| 1st Annual Hall of Fame Legends Game |
| Over 40 Hall of Famers showed up to participate in the first annual game. Two teams were drawn up from the players. Gordon Haab played MC as he introduced all the legendary Hall of Famers. Even though the hot and humid weather made for a sweaty performance, everyone had a turn at bat. For those unable to run, runners were provided. Legendary Shot Mangum made a spectacular hook slide going into 1st base. We're happy to report after a brief visit to the ER, Shot is home and doing well. He's looking forward to next year's game! Our plans are to hold the next Legends Game on the Friday night before the 2011 Down Syndrome Tournament next March, 2011. Please refer back to this website for additional information. | A Home Run Contest and Pitching Contest will be held at the Glen Allen Complex on Friday, June 4th, following the ASA Hall of Fame Legends Game. The Legends Game begins at 6:00p.m. The contests will follow the Legends Game at approximately 7:15pm. Proceeds of the contests will benefit the Local Down Syndrome Association.
